Loads of people came to see our video @ Blaydon Rugby Club
Ultimate Youth presented our
video ‘msg frm Swalwell’
and we launched the report
at a big event on 4th April. The
Deputy Mayor came to award Active
Citizenship certificates to the 30+
young people who'd taken part.
More than 700 young people aged 11 to
16 from the Swalwell/ Whickham area
took part, and you’ll be able to find
out what the survey said on this
site (just click on Survey Findings)
The survey was done with the help of a
group of young people from Swalwell and
they’ve been working hard over the last
year to express their views through
digital photography, a 15-minute video
and art.
The youth steering group have worked
hard to raise funds for the project,
distribute goody bags for everyone who
filled in the survey and organize a
party to launch the video.
The young peoples’ photographs can be
seen on the BBC Tyne website
www.bbc.co.uk/tyne where a special
picture gallery has been created.
The survey and media projects were
funded by Northern Film & Media, Key
Fund, Youth Bank, Trust Youth and
Gateshead Council.
