Hello!

We have seen the video about your city and would like to tell you a bit about our city. Venice is a small city with 60,000 inhabitants. You can visit St. Mark’s cathedral, it has a lot of gold mosaics. Rialto is a district which has the most beautiful bridge in Venice. On it there are some market stalls. In S. Barlolomeo square there is a centre where you can surf on the net for about thirty minutes for free. It is called Future Centre and is situated near Rialto. In summer we go to the Lido. There is the beach, but the water is very dirty. We can ride our bicycles in some parks, there are some half pipes for skateboarding. On Lido we can go kite surfing. It is an extreme sport. But in Venice there is a lot of graffiti on the walls, People throw rubbish on the ground.

Hi Swalwell!!!

We are a group of Venetian boys and girls. Your town looks very nice. It is quieter than Venice, isn’t it? WE want to tell you about our city; all along the Gran Canal there are places where you can get a gondola and have a trip around the canals. We like going on one, but it’s very expensive.

Are you near a beach? We’ve got many on the Lido, a strip of land between the sea and the lagoon. We like it very much and we go there in summer. We like our city because you can walk more than in any normal town, it’s unique, there are many boats and no cars. We like high water, even if it’s a problem for Venice.

We don’t like it because there are too many pigeons and there isn’t much to do. Some areas are full of tramps and we don’t like that.

Hi Swalwell! Have you ever seen Venice? It is a beautiful place in a lagoon, famous all over the world.

We like it because there are a lot of squares where children can play. The beach isn’t far from the city and in summer people go there to sunbathe. Besides, it’s a interesting city because there are a lot of important places like the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs.

The Doge’s Palace was the residence of the Doge up to the fall of the Venetian republic in 1797. Near the palace there is the Bridge of Sighs, called so because the prisoners who passed through it on their way to the prison cells wouldn’t see sunlight for a long time. When you come to Venice we could go with you on a gondola and visit the Gran Canal .
